Subscriptions for Lovable Apps on iOS: Step by Step
How to charge for a Lovable-built app on the App Store: StoreKit products, a paywall, syncing access to your backend and pricing that converts.

Quick answer
On iOS, a Lovable app must sell digital subscriptions through Apple in-app purchase. Create products in App Store Connect, show them in a StoreKit 2 paywall (directly or via RevenueCat or Adapty), verify purchases on your backend so web and app share access, and add a Restore Purchases button.
Most Lovable apps charge with Stripe on the web. On iOS, Apple requires its own in-app purchase system for digital subscriptions, so you need a second path for iPhone users.
The short answer
Create subscription products in App Store Connect, show them in a native paywall using StoreKit 2 (directly or through RevenueCat or Adapty), and sync the purchase to your Lovable backend so the user unlocks the same features on the web and in the app.
Step by step
- Decide your plans. A weekly and an annual plan with a free trial is the common starting point for consumer apps.
- Create products in App Store Connect. Add a subscription group, prices and localised names.
- Add a paywall. Show it after onboarding, at the moment of value, not on the first screen.
- Verify purchases on the server. Store an entitlement for the user in your backend so web and app stay in sync.
- Handle restores and cancellations. Apple requires a Restore Purchases button.
- Test with sandbox accounts before submitting.
Common mistakes
- Linking to a Stripe checkout inside the iOS app, which is rejected under Guideline 3.1.1.
- Unlocking features on the device only, so users lose access on the web.
- Pricing copied from the web without testing a trial.
